The party started with breakfast at The Grand Kizil Hotel. News that the "lead lined box" had arrived was the first breakfast news. Then, things were briefly interrupted by Saduakas Yermek and Erbol Aidos who had much to report on their recruiting efforts. They reported that they had set up a rally for later in the evening outside of the walls in the shantytown area of the city.
The Flying Dutch Man[edit]
During this eventful morning, an envoy from Kiskentay, Dutch Dauren arrived seeking to know the whereabouts and well-being of Mama Tess. Dutch, being very relieved to see Mama Tess in good health explained that he was sent by the Queen Mother of Karazalik herself as an envoy to secure her release from the Garis Triumvirate. He said that the Garis Border Patrol told him that Mama had been released from custody and directed him North to Kizil. (how did they know?)
Danger Will Robinson![edit]
While upstairs administering to his sorcerous studies, Obsidian Black started to notice unusual behavior from one of the Memes of Aspan. Eventually he opened it to reveal that it was displaying a message. Without translating, the distress seemed to indicate that there was some sort of an emergency at a specific location on the riverbank east of Kizil. Sticking to his work, Obsidian Black passed the message to the rest of the party without going down to talk to them.
A Fish out of Water[edit]
The rest of the party moved on to see what the trouble was and mounted their beasts for a ride a small distance east of the city. When they arrived they discovered a number of things:
- A curled up and physically exhausted water genasi (builder)
- A very agitated red dragon flying south down-river and chasing some sort of creature (which was out of site).
- A gnashed up magical shield, obviously the property of the water genasi but damaged by something exceedingly strong.
After some healing and mending from Mama Tess and Sarani Devalinth the restored genasi introduced herself as Mira Nephilim. She explained that she had been living in the ocean quite peacefully when this murderous creature invaded her world. It fought and chased her into the river delta and up river for days. It was night invincible. Near dead of exhaustion, she crawled up on shore awaiting her fate.
The party could see, off in the distance, a large red dragon infuriated at something in the water far down river. It was making repeated attacks at the water with its talons and roaring in anger as only dragons can.
Potion and Magic Shopping[edit]
The party picked up some healing potions and other magic which included a bag of holding. Meanwhile, Sarani Devalinth, eying an expensive knickknack, considered committing suicide by attempting to cast a spell in a magic shop. Fortunately, she was unable to reach Loki for her power and was spared the repeated forms of death that would have been her due... for now.
Obsidian, Sorcerer Scientist[edit]
Through various experiment with flaming porter breath and scorches to [[Panamon Cree}}'s floor, Obsidian Black was able to cast a miniaturized version of the Circle of Draconic Breath Absorption, which is already forming in his imagination. The tiny circle, scrawled into a metal shield, was able to redirect fire-breath damage into the shield holder, Mira Nephilim in the form of primordial energy, which she was able to absorb. It is not known how many more times, if any, the shield will continue to demonstrate this power.
Give Us the Source[edit]
A few things added up over the course of the day related to something of an undead nature with a particular unhappiness toward Obsidian Black or perhaps the contents of his pack. The earliest evidence of this was when Mama Tess interrupted her battle lizard, who were having an argument on the uncertainty of a mathematical system that relies on a set of axioms for its most simple operations. The battle lizards suspended their discussion to let Mama Tess know that there was undead stalking going on. Mira Nephilim also introduced herself to the lizards, who were astonished that it seemed everyone was learning their tongue these days.
The second evidence was strong indeed, when on the way to the cultist meeting, "Give us the source!" was heard not only by Obsidian Black, but also by Dutch Dauren, who further concluded that the source of the voice was from beneath them. Dutch was also able to detect that the demands came from something that walked, i.e. not a ghost, and was stalking them via the sewer system or other underground means.
The last bit of evidence for this, post rally, was when Sarani Devalinth met with Turar Sarsen at the Kizil Chantry of Jormungandr. He also mentioned that his acolytes had been reporting some unusual undead activity in the region.
The Night of the Cultists[edit]
Nothing is more fun than a rally. At the location described, Erbol Aidos handed out extra robes to invitees not already robed and Panamon Cree, Obsidian, Serani, Barron and Mira entered the rally to watch the goings on. Saduakas Yermek preached from the podium that the plans were in place to bring about Æski's wishes and that fellow cultist Panamon Cree would elaborate.
Panamon Cree did his best to stir up the crowd which numbered roughly 40 before the party arrived. Once convinced that Panamon was indeed the 'man with the plan', the rally descended into various chantings of praise for Æski. Barron Jetesiz seemed particularly moved by this heartfelt praise. Meanwhile Saduakas Yermek warned Panamon that a definite plan must be in place soon and that they would meet for breakfast at the hotel.
Plans are Made[edit]
The next morning, with Saduakas and Erbol in attendance, the plan was struck. The party would attempt to lure away the Eldest Disciple, Turar Sarsen away from the chantry and abduct or detain him. Meanwhile, Panamon Cree would attempt to gather the faithful to summon the red dragon back to the chantry as they had witnessed earlier. While this attempt is made, the cultists will cart themselves and the animals downriver to the dragon's lair. Saduakas and Erbol agreed to their role in securing transport for the party and the cult.
Setting Up Breakfast[edit]
Sarani Devalinth met up with Turar Sarsen and invited him for an early breakfast at The Grand Kizil Hotel, promising that the head of her chapter of Loki worshippers would be in the city and would like to meet him. To her surprise, the Elder Disciple agreed without a moment's hesitation.

I think the plan was to have breakfast with Sarsen, and attempt to cast Suggestion on him, so that he waits seven and a half hours and then summons the dragon. Sending in a disguised Panamon is Plan B.
