The Qurilissi, better known to some as the "builders" appear in the lore of most of the religions of Otan. Their role was to help create the world by fashioning the mountains and lakes, forests and ice and almost everything that there is on Otan to this very day. While their existence is considered historical or even fictional by most, exactly four builders are know to currently exist on Otan; one of each variety.

Racial Variants[edit]

There are four substrains of the Qurilissi, corresponding to the four groups of elements, namely Energy, Flow, Matter, and Life. While it is believed that there were once thousands of each variety of Qurilissi, only one member of each variety has been has ever been known to exist.

Energy Qurilissi[edit]

A Fire Qurilissi

The Energy Qurilissi once numberd tens of thousands of thousands on Otan. They were charged by the gods with the task of setting the world in motion. Using their magical powers and their ability to summon and control elements of energy, Ligtning, Fire, and Light. the Energy Qurilissi set the world and everything that moves into motion.

The entire substrain of Energy Qurilissis was briefly represented by a single individual. During the time of the Great Erasure when the gods purged the world of memory, they also purged the Qurilissi. The lone remaining Energy Qurilissi had been kidnapped and taken to lands far from Otan. More than two centuries later, she was recovered vowing to restore all her Qurilissi brothers and sisters back to life.

Flow Qurilissi[edit]

A Flow Qurilissi

The Flow Qurilissi originally helped to create the atmosphere in Otan and eventually were responsible for the weather patterns, including the clouds, the rains, the oceans and the ice covered mountains. There were once thousands of Flow Qurilissi in Otan, though few remain today. They conducted their powers over Air, Water, and Ice by magical means and their ability to control these elementals.

The only known living Flow Qurilissi in Otan was a male known as Tartilgan. He was spared from being purged by the gods as he had accidentally been entombed in ice in the Soltustik mountains. He was later discovered by Garis spellcasters and restored to health and forcibly enrolled into their war program, where he was compelled to help the Garis to build powerful airships.

Life Qurilissi[edit]

A Life Qurilissi

The Life Qurilissi originally helped to create the biosphere on Otan. Apart from the sentient species, Life Qurilissi populated the world with every manner of flora and fauna. At one time, there were thousands of Life Qurilissi covering Otan, though few, if any, remain today. They employed their powers over the life elements of Flesh, Chitin, and Wood and through knowledge and a little magic, were able to create breeding pairs of all life on Otan.

There is no known living Life Qurilissi in Otan though there is a rumour of one who was carried underground, deep in the forest, by a giant burrowing creature.

Matter Qurilissi[edit]

An Earth Qurilissi

The Matter Qurilissi once walked the surface of Otan by the tens of thousands, their common goal to create the very ground that people walk on today. Using their magical powers and their ability to summon and control material elements, Rock, Metal, and Crystal. the Matter Qurilissi have an intimate knowledge of every aspect of the world map.

The entire substrain of Matter Qurilissis were for a time, represented in the form of a single individual known as Spire. During the time of the Great Erasure when the gods purged the world of memory, they also purged the Qurilissi. Spire had been trapped underground after an accidental rockslide. More than two centuries later, he was recovered and restored to health by quarrying stone giants who discovered his body. His story is similar to every Qurilissi alive.
