Buzaki's official role in the Baksism is the Baksi of Uncertainty. His less official, though arguably more important role is that of the destroyer. Uncertainty is often a precursor to death and decay. Unfortunately, it tends to be the precursor to many things good in life, which creates a dilemma for the living.
Buzaki represents the inevitability of an unpredictable fate. He is rarely depicted as evil, but humans having interactions with Buzaki tend to have famously bad outcomes. These outcomes end particularly poorly for those with bad intentions. The greedy, the gluttonous or the perpetually annoying will find their comeuppance if they cross the path of Buzaki.
Intercession[edit]
When interacting with humans or other spirits, Buzaki may take the form of a spider or a rabbit to confuse his quarry. His intercessions are almost always in the form of a prank. Ideally, the life which was interceded, will improve and the owner of that life will learn a valuable life lesson. Uncertainty is the rule with Buzaki, however, and a victim of one of his pranks may learn a lesson only to also have stumbled to an untimely death. Buzaki has no remorse for any of his pranks that have gone awry.
