Kirkuyey is the ninth month of the year on the Otan calendar and marks the final month of the Otan summer. While Kirkuyey goes by different names in different languages, the same 30 day period is recognized throughout Otan.

Kirkuyey features the warmest weather in of the Otan year and the weather is typically put to good use. Both religious and secular observances tend to involve an outdoor setting, from fairs to games to outdoor theater.

Kirkuyey Symbols

  • The Mouth - Although this symbol looks perhaps more like a boot, it represents the sound that comes out from within. The mouth is a symbol that simultaneously represents socializing, eating, drinking, storytelling, repentance and romance. Naturally, there are many observances throughout Otan to celebrate these various aspects of the human experience.
