The Seventh Session began in some sort of magical research facility in the lower level of Balagash Keep. The party had already dispatched the Ungirsi researchers in the room and scouted out three Ungirsi clerics preparing for battle in the next room.
The Battle Begins
The three clerics fell like dominoes, the last having been grappled and bound, but Greef Roake and Matteo Alleman. They interrogated the surviving and bound Ungir. After questioning him, they learned the contents of the other rooms in the basement, one being the cleric's boss and the other, the cleric's "ride". The party put him into the flour barrel.
The Boss
Disguised as Hedgewind Jalinbeti, Panamon Cree entered the boss's office to confront him. The boss, sitting on a throne of sorts, had the jewelled box in his lap. His outstretched hand seemed to indicate that he had some method to back his threat... which went like, "Leave now, and you all may live." Matteo Alleman, with much less tact and much more bravado, pretended to attempt a delivery to the boss. The boss released the contents of his hand, which turned out to be fireball beads from a fireball necklace.
The Blast
An extremely huge fireball blast spread through the complex, burning all bodies and inflicting severe damage on all of the party. There was blood curdling scream from a hiding Obsidian Black, who was out of sight of everyone else. In the aftermath, the party was very singed and burned and all seriously wounded. The cleric who cast the fireball, was burned to a crisp. The box, that was in his lap remained on the throne, unsinged and unharmed.
Obsidian Black, emerged from his hiding space without a . In fact, the stench and filth from the swim through the "moat" was also somehow removed from him. His perfectly white hair, now inexplicably sports a patch of black hair on the front and center of his scalp. He said nothing about his freshly cleaned condition and the party seemed uninterested.
So Many Plans, So Little Time
Armed with a blackened chest full of gold and the jewelled box they came for, the severely wounded party was in the mind of fleeing the dungeon. Panamon Cree was of a different mind, however, thinking it a mistake to leave the area with an unexplored room. His strong desire to complete the dungeon drowning out the party's wishes to evacuate... he withheld the magical word for the escape rope. The party, terrified of what was behind the door in their wounded state, pressed Panamon to say the word on pain of... pain. He eventually relented and the party disappeared from the dungeon.
Holding out for a Hedgewind
Arriving instantly in the office of Hedgewind Jalinbeti, Hedgewind greeted, them with an almost fatherly admiration for the party. Remarking that they smelled awful, he thanked them for the box and rewarded the party with a receipt for a commission of 5 very luxurious beds for their new home at Koboldy Rock.
A Mighty Haul
Once re-established at The Stuffed Kobold, the party began to divide the treasure. The treasure chest was indeed stuffed with gold, totaling 3600 pieces and 15 100gp jewels, the latter of which were committed to improving Koboldy Rock. The magically oriented paper recovered from the Ungirsi lab was determined to be a religious writing related to the Temple of Woden. Panamon made a copy of the Nine Herbs Charm document.
All the Way to Karagay
The party decided to head to Karagay after a long rest, where they expect to find a cleric at the Temple of Woden to help decipher their newfound treasure. En route, the party encountered some Ælfen traders, also travelling to Karagay, Panamon made another copy of the Nine Herbs Charm document and traded it for a potion of Poison Resistance. The party arrived at Karagay the next evening having travelled the rest of the way with the Ælfes. There they took up residence at the The Lazy Pearl: Costs a little more, but you're worth it.
