Next Session | Twenty-second Session |
The session started in an underground lair of Ongar Sarsen near the city of of Koke. The party, freshly bathed in the blood of blue dragons after a tenuous battle, looked to the back of the dragon cavern to find a twin pair of double doors. The first double doors were made of the same material as the outer cage while behind the cage stood thick wooden doors.
Dutch Dauren opened the cage doors with ease, but before opening the wooden doors, Panamon Cree detected magic on the doors. Detecting magic, he attempted to dispel magic and the door was soon magic free.
Hell on Otan
It didn't take all of Dutch's perception skills to make a guess as to what was behind the door. He heard and described sounds that might have originated from one one of the planes of Nether World. Dauntless, they opened the door to see what was making the din.
Once opened, the door revealed another cavern nearly as large as the dragon cave. A Blue Aydahar figure in clerical robes immediately spotted the party at the door and began to cast a spell. Behind him, a shadowy demon languished in some sort of demon circle. Dutch and Obsidian were soon through the door, followed by the rest of the party, Tiktok the crocodile, and at last, Panamon.
Dutch's cruel arrows found their mark in the cleric as another cleric rounded the corner and the shadow demon, now a troop of shadow demons seemed loosed from their bonds. Mira Nephalim cast a simple entangle spell into the center of the creatures as she and her crocodile closed in for melee combat.
At Odds with Ongar
Ongar Sarsen proved to be a problem for the party at first, striking Mira with a mind spike. While the rest of the party confounded the clerics and demons with entanglement added to Dutch Daren's silence spell, added more woes to the hapless minions. Meanwhile, Obsidian Black whilst flying invisibly hunted down Ongar, who retreated from the fray to retrieve his Meme of Aspan.
A counterspell here and a silence spell from an acrobatic Dutch Dauren prevented Ongar Sarsen from escaping immediately. While Obsidian blasted him from his invisible realm Ongar soon realized he was in trouble and ran for cover eventually getting off a gaseous form spell before falling to any more attacks. Unfortunately for Ongar, Dutch was able to draw a bead on the gas cloud and steal away the last of Ongar's life with his trusty bow.
A Comedy of Errors
Meanwhile Sarani Devalinth blasted demons back into the entangle spell while entangled demons fought to do anything at all. The clerics had fallen to the blows of Mama Tess, Mira Nephilim and her conjured crocodile TikTik, who gleefully ripped demons to shreds. The party soon had the upper hand, with the last shadow demon almost wishing for death so he could return to a plane of existence that makes more sense.
DM Note: These monsters all received severe reprimands from HR and are on probation until further notice.
Loot Cleanup in Aisle 5
Obsidian Black was first to scoop up quarry, a black box that was clearly one of the Memes of Aspan. The day was promising for Panamon Cree, who upon investigating the lair, discovered all manner notes detailing warlock magic pertaining to the memes. Further, the party learned that the memes can be powered somehow by demons. The notes contained secrets for Panamon to unlock. Obsidian handed Panamon an magical rod taken from the body of Ongar.
Mama Tess healed up the party as Panamon scooped up the warlocky notes. Ongar's head was removed and taken with the party. Any empty vials were filled with blue dragon's blood for Obsidian's stash, and the party made with some mending spells to provide Obsidian with a precious few extra vials.
Loot Cleanup in Aisle 5
Back at The Elder hotel, Panamon Cree dug into his warlock notes, while Obsidian Black observed the new meme. The latter, with the help of Mira, discovered the meme to be titled On the Descent to the Nether World. Mira's perusal of the meme determined that it was a set of instructions for how to descend to the Nether World without perishing or losing one's spirit along the way.
Worn out from the day of battle and triumph the party tucked itself in for the night. Thus endeth the twenty first session...
Players Notes
Please note any REALLY IMPORTANT errors or omissions here and I'll write them into the narrative.

Dutch put his bow to good use, drawing a bead and pincushoning Ongar, which sent him scrambling for cover behind a pillar. Free from the distractions of Duch's arrows and Obsidian's counter spell, the warlock was finally able to take gasous form but before he could retaliate Obsidian rounded the pillar, used his magical guidance to locate Ongar, and blighted him for a third and final time.
