The story of Gunhildr and the Stone
Gunhildr walked along the stream/ The clear water rippled/ Dancing over the stones, smooth as eggs/ She picked one up and placed it into her pocket/
She met an old beggar on the street who asked her for a bite to eat/ Having naught else, she offered him the stone/ He lifted his broad rimmed hat in thanks/ And cracked the stone into his open mouth/ Drinking the golden yolk/
Gunhildr looked on in surprise and gave a quick prayer/ The old man smiled/ "I thank you for your help, for even though you thought your assistance useless you offered it notwithstanding" And with a resounding crack of thunder, the old man vanished
