Due to her tribe being lost in the Grendel War her along with some other young Ungir escaped and got separated. She was saved from starvation by a troupe of bards (named Salvo) who happened upon her wandering and taught her the ways of music and all it could do, and since she could not remember her last name the troupe gave her the troupe's name for it so that she could always remember them if they ever went separate ways.
