The legendary Towers of Eriquat are situated high in the eastern mountainous region of the country of Jalinjeri (formerly Ortalyk). They were created for and are inhabited by the Council of Nine, a reclusive collection of spellcasters who formerly held much sway in the politics of Otan.

Following a series of wars between Humans and Grendel for the domination of Otan, peace was reached between the instigators in part, by the creation of the Towers of Eriquat and the signing of the Concord of Kala Astanals.
