Baeldaeg is the son of Wodin and Frigg. This scion of the gods was said to be the most beautiful of all the gods and perhaps the most beautiful creature who ever lived. His life was short, however, brought to an end in a contest devised by Loki in which his heart was pierced by a spear (or an arrow in another telling) made of mistletoe.
