There are said to be sixty-four Memes of Aspan which were mistakenly shared with the Otani people by Suu. Each meme is thought to be of an extremely magical nature, bearing the blueprints of the universe. These come in the form of simple instructions for life on Otan from how to be a god, to how to soothe a troubled heart.
Origin[edit]
The Memes of Aspan were either written by or simply collected by Aspan at a time supposed predated all life on Otan. He entrusted them to his only son Kun. There are many accounts of what happened next, but by most accounts, the memes were either misplaced or deliberately wherehumans would find them in what is now the Caliphate of Ontustik.
Shortly after finding their first homes in various ziggurats of the [[Temple of[Aspan]], the Memes of Aspan were somehow lost a second time. This time they were mysteriously dispersed throughout the nations of Otan. It is not known if this second outrage to Aspan was the work of Kun or a less divine group was the agent of redistribution.
Since their redistribution, the Flowers of Aspan have pledged to restore the Memes of Aspan to their rightful homes in the capitals of Ontustik. Meanwhile, other factions, hearing of the incredible power the memes are rumored to possess, seek them out as well. It is fair to say that even the gods don't know where the memes will end up.
Known Memes[edit]
The Memes of Aspan were said to have all originally begun their Otani lives in Anar at the Temple of Aspan. Since then, there is evidence that the memes have been scattered to the four winds or possibly destroyed. The first and second of the memes almost certainly remain in the hands of the Caliphate of Ontustik's priesthood, the Temple of Tun. The Aspanist priesthood has not been public about what they do or do not possess, nor have they made any approximations as to the power that each meme might possess.

Speculation and Rumour[edit]
There more rumours about the Memes of Aspan than there are memes. The most credible of the speculators, however, maintain that the memes do not only contain instructions for humans, but at a deeper level, contain the instructions for how to make the instructions. In other words, it might be possible to edit a meme or use a meme to create new memes.
Other speculators maintain that the memes give the possessor the powers of the gods, which range from immortality to infinite will to precognition and beyond.
Further speculation holds that if the memes are brought together, that combinations of the memes will yield new and never before seen instructions to mankind. This wild speculation progresses to what might happen if all the memes are brought to one place. In this ultimate speculation the possessor of all the memes might become a god, create a new world, bring an end to this world, and a number of even wilder specuations.
