The Uris Maxabbat is a fabled book from before remembered time; a time when it was rumoured that skilled fighters dominated all of Otan. The greatest of modern fighters of Otan will sometimes quest to find the remnants of this old book.
It is said to contain detailed instructions for six lost fighting techniques. Each technique gives a particular advantage in fighting, however, when all six techniques are combined the fighter becomes truly powerful. It is speculated that fighter's who had mastered all six of these techniques were undefeatable.
The techniques are as follows:
- The Unthinking Strike - Where a fighter can strike without thinking, often giving them initiative in battle where it would otherwise be lost.
- The Confusing Strike - A strike that causes a fighter's opponent to lose his form and balance, making his future strike(s) more difficult.
- The Body Strike - In which the fighter summons strength from all parts of the body, transferring that energy to the weapon and greatly increasing the damage of the strike.
- The Seeker Strike - In which a fighter's strike seeks the gaps in an opponent's armor or cover.
- The Short Strike - Where the fighter uses their stance to close on an opponent, making the strike against the target easier to land by virtue of a better position.
- The Sap - A technique where the fighter figuratively glues his body to his opponent, sapping his energy and using the opponent as cover against multiple combatants.
