[[Ymir]] is quite unlike any of the other gods on [[Otan]].  He is one of very few gods to be considered by many as possibly fictional, a metaphor for creation.  [[Ymir]] was supposedly a titan, a giant among giants, born to the primordial void.  Being both male and female, he sired and gave birth to the progenitors of the gods, from whence came [[Woden]].  Legends are unclear as to whether [[Ymir]]'s body died or he was killed by [[Woden]], but all of creation was shaped by [[Woden]] into the [[Otan]] that is known today.
